Hi all can some help me cant play the game at all a week I been looking online. An update containing the full list of fixes will be posted to the News Section of the Far Cry 4 page prior to the patch being released on Friday. However, the PC users are facing a great issue every time the user tries to run the. Far Cry 4 - Black Screen Not Responding ON STARTUP. Though Patch 1.4.0 will contain additional fixes on release, we wanted to let users know that the black screen issue has been tackled. Some players have been able to temporarily fix this problem by disabling USB devices and certain drivers, but we realize this was in no way ideal.įor that reason, this Friday, November 21st, we’ll be releasing Patch 1.4.0 for PC that should remedy the problem and allow you, as a PC player to enjoy the game as normal. We are pleased to say that we have been able to remedy the issue (identified in our Known Issues list yesterday) which caused some PC versions of Far Cry 4 to go directly to a black screen due to the presence of external USB devices. I have been monitoring the ubi support forum, and people have just started posting the following emails as having been received from Ubi in response to tickets for this issue: Many people have been able to work around this by unplugging/disabling certain USB devices, but some cannot get it to launch no matter what. If you are like me you are in the unfortunate position of being unable to launch FC4 on PC at all, due to a hanging black fullscreen window after the splashscreen. Oh, and the regular Ubi forums have been 'down for maintenance' for about 3 hours now. Please stay tuned to the Live Update Thread, and please log in and voice your concerns if you are having the same issue it probably won't get a fix out any sooner, but enough negative attention might convince Ubi to improve the service for future release, and may expediate confirmation or otherwise that this email is accurate. EDIT 3: CONFIRMED! Update/fix/patch news for all platforms can be found from here.ĮDIT: To clarify, this is not yet fully confirmed by Ubi support, just a couple of people copy-pasting the same email into the Live Update thread.ĮDIT 2: A mod is present on the thread currently, but actively avoiding questions of confirmation of these emails re the Friday 1.4.0 patch. ![]()

![]() ![]() Indoor lifestyles: Walls, roofs, and even windows block the sun. It is also cold in the Winter, so the next two bullet points (indoor lifestyles and clothes) are even more common. Season: Winter and early Spring at high latitudes: The Winter sun is too low in the sky, especially if you are far north (or south), to help with much, if any, vitamin D synthesis. Latitude: People who live at higher latitudes (closer to the poles, farther from the equator) are more likely to be vitamin D deficient than are those who live closer to the equator. What are the risk factors for Vitamin D deficiency?īecause sunlight is our primary source of vitamin D, things that block or reduce sunlight are risk factors for vitamin D deficiency 16: Should you be hungry for more details on the health implications of vitamin D deficiency, Holick 2007 15 provides an exhaustive review. Doctors and public health officials advising us all to restrict our sun exposure lest we get skin cancer were-once again-basing their recommendations on reductionist, a-evolutionary science, and likely caused more harm than good. Even more surprising, greater exposure to sunlight is also associated with a reduction in the risk of death from malignant melanoma 14. Here are just two: Greater exposure to sunlight is associated with reduction of risk of developing multiple sclerosis 13. Given that the vast majority of our vitamin D is gained through sun exposure, it is also of interest to investigate what diseases and conditions correlate with sun exposure. This is consistent with growing evidence that vitamin D functions in regulating the immune system, has many anti-viral properties, and that supplementation with it provides protection against many respiratory infections 12. Vitamin D deficiency is also a significant risk factor for HIV patients 10, and likely increases susceptibility of populations to seasonal influenza 11. Supplementation with vitamin D in infancy decreases the later development of type I diabetes 9. Vitamin D deficiency is also associated with increased risk of metabolic syndrome 8. Just a few specific health outcomes include that vitamin D deficiency causes bone and muscle weakness and increasing vitamin D reduces the risk of fractures, falls, periodontal disease, and colorectal cancer 7. ![]() Vitamin D is understood to decrease the risk of chronic illnesses ranging from autoimmune disease to cardiovascular disease to infectious disease. The majority of human tissues and cells have a vitamin D receptor. Also contributing to those people’s success was the consumption of vitamin D rich foods 6, like fish, eggs, and organ meats, especially liver. That said, vitamin D is stored in fat for a long time 5, which is presumably part of how people who lived in far northern (or, far more rarely, far southern) climes survived the Winters without experiencing deficits, before vitamin D supplements existed. Compound the two-winter and high latitude-and nearly no vitamin D synthesis occurs. Winter, too, poses a problem for vitamin D synthesis, due both to the lower angle of the sun in the sky (such that its rays pass through more blocking atmosphere before reaching us), and the fewer hours that the sun is above the horizon. The farther you get from the equator, the less intense the sunlight is-and therefore the less capable it is of helping you create vitamin D. It can also be acquired through the diet, although greater than 90% of the vitamin D supply of our species is understood to be derived from exposure to ultraviolet B light, specifically from the sun 4. Vitamin D is synthesized in your skin, upon exposure to the sun. But with particular regard to whether WEIRD 3os ought to supplement with vitamin D, we (both Bret and I) now believe that we were wrong. Our broader point stands, including that we moderns are making matters worse with many of our lifestyle choices, such as spending too much time inside, and slathering ourselves with sunscreen when we do venture out. In A Hunter-Gatherer’s Guide to the 21st Century, Bret Weinstein and I contend that the rush to supplement with vitamin D is yet another example of reductionist, metric-heavy thinking that passes for modern medicine and science ( excerpted here). Others have argued that widespread vitamin D deficiency may be a symptom, not a cause, of ill-health 2. Vitamin D deficiency is so widespread, and so predictive of bad health outcomes, that it has itself been called a pandemic by many scientists, even in the title of at least one peer-reviewed scientific paper 1. ![]() ![]() ![]() Fans had to wait until January 2015 to see truly quality game, and that game was Brandish: The Dark Revenant from Nihon Falcom (known for the series Dragon Slayer, The Legend of Heroes or Ys). The games released for PSP in 2014, such as StreetKix: Freestyle and End of Serenity, didn’t do well or catch particular interest. Here’s a chart I made showing this year’s JP PSP releases with all the important information I could have gathered. Prototype’s Gakuen Heaven 2: Double Scramble came out on the same day. On the last note, another otome PSP-only game came out just this week – Meiji Tokyo Renka: Twilight Kiss, which is being published by Broccoli (subsidiary of GungHo Online Entertainment), the same company that publishes Uta no Prince-Sama series. Although it dropped to 26th place in the second week, first week’s success was very impressive.Īnother PSP game that made it to top 50 of that week was, well, also an otome game – Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 6, published by Koei Tecmo, known for their Warriors franchises. Only 9k less than that week also debuting Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. In March, a Nippon Ichi Software (known for their Disgaea series) otome visual novel Uta no Prince-Sama: All Star After Secr et (in the picture above) from a series Uta no Prince-Sama sold 67k and reached 4th place in its opening week. PSP’s hardware sales are not being tracked anymore (last you can find are from the last week of 2014), but software once in a time appears in weekly Media Creates Sales. Six games in three months for a ten year old system? That’s not bad. It had 6 games coming out from January to March of this year. PSP in Japan is still alive and doing well, at least software-wise. So basically, instead of playing on 3 devices (PSP/Vita/PS TV), you play only on one.īefore I get to the main part of the article, I should say something about PSP in Japan. Another way, running a patched ISO on your Vita through eCFW, would be illegal, and if not illegal (for example if you had an iso you had created yourself), then very obscure. JP PS Store (or import a UMD) and then apply the patch, everything only on PSP. Also, the only legal way to play those games is to download the game from e.g. The thing is though, the finishing of fan translations vastly depends on translation teams’ time, resources, etc., and it surely is not easy, and for variosu reasons related to those things, a big part of fan translation fails. ![]() And these are quite recent games, Yu-Gi-Oh was released in January 2015, so as you can see, fan translation scene will probably be here for a while, and we get something once in a while. Latest added/updated projects were Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V Tag Force Special, latest game from the Yu-Gi-Oh series, and God Eater 2, which despite getting an expansion called God Eater 2: Rage Burst, doesn’t look like it will ever make its way to the west. If you want to keep up to the latest PSP fan translation projects, or maybe have a look if there aren’t any you missed, there’s great list of PSP fan translations on gbatemp. Actually, nevermind the last one, Type-0 fan translation patch had to be taken down due to copyright infringement. PSP has alwas had a great base of fan translators, who have allowed us to play some never-translated games in English (more-less), like Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy in Itadaki Street Portable, Grand Knights History, two Hatsune Miku: Project Diva games, Valkyria Chronicles 3 (& Extra Edition), Toradora! Portable, Way of the Samurai Portable, first Danganronpa (project of translating the second game was cancelled right after PS Vita remasters were annoucned), or Final Fantasy Type-0. As this year’s events show though, it may not be over yet. Yes, a few were ported to the current gen platforms (including X1, thanks Square Enix), but most of them are just forgotten. It is also the fact that out of all great JP-only PSP games ever released, a majority will never officially make it to the west. It’s year 2015, and even though there are a lot of passionate Vita owners and it’s doing decently in Japan, the total sales are nowhere near PSP, and they will never be, even if Vita gets the way to install free gamez. Despite being a little older than 10 years old, PSP can still offer western players new gaming experiences and open them doors to the new series, and not only in Japan. ![]() ![]() ![]() Considering all the other advantages any compromises on sound are, to me, worth it. You will be surprised by how full and detailed the sound is and in most circumstances they will be more than adequate. I have to stress that these are all really good speakers. They both feel like compromises on the larger unit which is why I am investing in a PLAY:5 instead of a PLAY:3, even though it’s more power than I need.Īgain you won’t be disappointed with the 3/5, but they just feel a little compromised. But neither is quite as powerful or compelling as one would hope. But it would because it has a higher spec. They’re both good, I’d say Denon has the edge on the larger unit as far as sound goes. PLAY:3 and HEOS 5 are a little more controversial. In fact they are so good that I am going to be largely buying these, pairing them up in some rooms to create a stereo field (which both systems support). ![]() They both have two amps and two speakers and both push out impressive sound for their size and cost. The high-end models I have heard briefly in-store.īoth PLAY:1 and HEOS 3 are impressive little units. I have auditioned only the PLAY:1, HEOS 3, PLAY:3 and HEOS 5. Let’s turn to something a little less superficial. Source:, where you can also read this excellent showdown review. Heos left Sonos right (the Sonos here is a mix of the white and black models) Both are available in black or white, and in the end will come down to your own tastes.įor me the white Sonos are the winners – they are clean, square and modern, and they fit with my tastes. The HEOS, whilst distinctive, look more like modified hi-fi speakers. The Sonos overall has a more solid, modern look informed, one might say, by the look of PC speakers and i-Device docking stations. Aesthetics are a personal thing but this is one respect in which Sonos and HEOS are very different. So let’s look at a few features before wrapping up with my decision and reasons.Īnything you put in your house is both functional and decorative. In South Africa anyway they are sold at a similar price point, so even that isn’t much of a deciding factor. But it is what it is: it has much more to do with clever distribution of sound within your home, from various sources, than it does with satisfying the SysOps on AVForums Both systems feature clear, crisp reproduction with good bass, even without a sub. They are great for background music or for contexts in which each vibration of each violin string is not required. The reality is that neither of these systems are what true audiophiles would select. Sonos argues that they have better software and better integration with smart home systems. They also both offer smartphone and tablet-based software which controls the flow of audio from your device to one or more speakers.ĭenon – and some audiophiles by extension – argue that their speakers produce superior sound. In fact, if Sonos’ rantings are to be believed, Denon has effectively stolen a bunch of ideas and technologies from them and they are going to be suing their asses ASAP.īoth systems consist of the same components: three levels of self-contained speaker/amplifiers a unit that links non-wifi amps into the ecosystem a stand-alone amplifier and a surround-sound set of components including soundbar and sub-woofer. But fairly briefly I am going to outline the relative strengths and weaknesses of these two systems. ![]() In the end i have chosen to go with the Sonos setup and I’ll tell you why in a minute. I have spent the better part of a month to-ing and fro-ing between these two systems. It’s also worth saying that there are other players in the wifi multi-room game these days – but that in South Africa these are the most likely two options. This post does not attempt to sell the virtues of wifi multi-room audio compared with other multi-room options. If you’re reading this and you don’t know what Sonos or HEOS are, you may want to read my previous post or come back to this when you are faced with this choice (if ever). ![]() ![]() ![]() It is completely different from other torrent download sites as it does not host the files. the requested result is gathered from a dozen of search engines. Skulker enters Sampson's cage wondering where Danny is, only to be tricked by Sam and Tucker (who was in a gorilla costume). Danny catches on and decides to get the jump on Skulker by going to the zoo just before scheduled. Skulker picks it up and attaches it to his gauntlet, greatly increasing his suit's computing power, but also forcing him to follow Tucker's schedule that he set for Danny, sending him places such as school and the library just as he is about to get the jump on Danny. Sam and Tucker interrupt, and Danny takes advantage of the distraction to attack. Skulker manages to take Danny down to the basement lab, planning to cage him. Sam and Tucker try to cover up for Danny, but Connie expresses interest in Danny, suspecting him of possessing a hidden level of genius. The two then fight, disturbing the rest of the Fenton family.
